101 Favorite Songs: (101 - 90)
I have completed my iTunes list of 101 of my favorite songs. Over the next few weeks I will release them in groups. Today I will list songs 101 - 90.
This was incredibly challenging - I've been sitting at the computer for well over 3 hours debating songs and deciding their rankings. The top 10 was super easy, I knew right away what my number 1 song was - but the rest, not so easy.
Picking favorite songs is a very in the moment tasks - who knows, by the time I release all the songs my mind may have changed on rankings and song inclusion... only time will tell.
Song List
101. Dreams - The Cranberries
"Oh my life, is changing every day, in every possible way" - just a great song.
100. Fireflies - Owl City
This song makes the list for many reasons, 1. it reminds me of Jer and our honeymoon, 2. Bearski has his own version of this song and it makes me laugh really hard during "I like to make myself believe, that planet earth turns slowly" and 3. the video kicks some major ass.
99. Sad Songs - Matt Nathanson
Jer and I saw him live at Jammin' at the Zoo and he's great. This song gets me to and from work most days. It's just a cool song to be rockin' out to on the el.
98. Pink Cadillac - Bruce Springsteen
This was one of my favorite songs as a youngster - all I wanted was Pink Cadillac, crushed velvet seats...
97. That's Not My Name - The Ting Tings
Another song that reminds me of the doggie, "That's not Bears name, he gets real mad" - yeah J and I made that up one day and still can't stop singing it.
96. Love You So - Natalie
This song totally has a cheesy memory for me - when Jer and I were first dating, this is the song I couldn't stop listening to because it was how I was feeling for my man. Still feel the same... I really do love him so. xoxo
95. Real Good Man - Tim McGraw
Because this song kicks ass, that's why.
94. Mr. Moon - OAR
I couldn't find the actual audio of this song, but it's a great song. You should probably just download and realize why it's on the list. "A little boy alone, he relies on fairy tales and the moon is his castle late tonight..."
93. The Old Apartment - Barenaked Ladies
This is totally a me and Jer song - not that we ever would break into any old apartments or anything crazy like that. We listened to this song on repeat at the beginning of our courting phase, just laying around, connecting over how great of a song this is. "And I am happy here!"
92. Dance Floor - T Pain
And I'm back at ISU, working at Elroys. That's what this song is, in every way.
91. Wanted Dead or Alive - Bon Jovi
Rock Band makes me love this song more than I already did. And Bon Jovi is just fabulous - what list of favorite songs is complete without at least ONE of his songs?
90. Silver Springs - Fleetwood Mac
I love Stevie Nicks voice - and this is by far my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. When I was younger I used to dance around my parent's living room making up ballet routines to this song. The end is my favorite: "You'll never get away from the sound of a woman that loves you" - it's haunting, and I love it.

Took a minor "break"...
I've been MIA - but this time, for a reason. My very blonde, very foolish self decided to break her wrist last week. Bad news was that I was in a half cast for a full week, good news is that the doc said I was healing wonderfully and didn't need a cast! So I'm in a splint that allows me a type like a normal human again, and thus here I am, back on my blog writing to you about my wonderful Day Zero list that is now 8% complete!
Here's what's new since we last spoke: Goal 32 checked off the list (use last-minute deals to book a weekend getaway) and Goal 97 is also completed (experience high tea at the Drake - and yes it is amazing and you should probably go there sometime and do this).
High tea at the Drake was my Valentine's Day gift from J. He's the sweetest, most caring husband that a girl could ever ask for. He wouldn't tell me where we were going (I was convinced we were going to the Signature Room, though I didn't understand why we would go for lunch v dinner) and it wasn't until we pulled up to the Drake that I realized what J had planned. I started to cry because for my husband to want to come have tea with me, it was so touching. J isn't exactly a tea kind of guy, but he definitely knows how to make me a very happy wife - happy wife, happy life, right??
I've also progressed on my Izze tasting quest and have since tried Grapefruit, Clementine and Lime. Grapefruit was fantastic, but not as fantastic as the peach and Clementine and Lime I could do without - especially the Clementine, kind of nasty actually. J liked the Clem so it is for some, just not for me and my taste buds.
More progress has also been made on Goal 47 (eat at a new restaurant every month for a year). I tried LOTS of new restaurants while J and I were completing Goal 32 - we went to Lake Geneva for the weekend, it was great! We went to the Chop House (neither of us got steak, weird) and we also ate at a delightful American Bistro in 'downtown' Lake Geneva called Sopra. Highly recommend this little spot. Tonight we are checking out Japonais for Chicago Restaurant Week - so wow, three new restaurants in one month!
Pretty proud of myself for not letting a broken wrist interfere with my Day Zero goals - but then again, these are goals that I want to accomplish. I heart Day Zero.
Check out my entire list here.

And we're back...
Victory!
I received a new password from Day Zero. The list is officially updated. Check it out here.
I also have started working on goal 98, try every flavor of Izze. Izze has been one of my favorite products in the market. It's a great beverage - completely natural. No caffeine, no sugar, no bad stuff you shouldn't be drinking - all deliciousness in a bottle. Izze has three lines of juices: Izze, Izze Esque (which is the low cal version, still all natural) and Izze Fortified (enriched with vitamins - perfect for lunch on the go!)
Until Day Zero, I had no idea that there were three lines - now I am on the hunt to find Izze Fortified because that sounds perfect. The full lines and their flavors can be found below. I started my trial with the Izze line and will progress in the orders listed:
Izze:
- Peach (done, review below)
- Pomegranate
- Grapefruit
- Lime
- Blueberry
- Clementine
- Blackberry
- Apple
After I complete the Izze sampling I will move onto Izze Esque:
Izze Esque:
- Black Raspberry
- Limon
- Mandarin
Then, we'll finish with Izze Fortified. I figure, finish with this one because I'll likely be hooked to the grapefruit version.
Izze Fortified:
- Clementine
- Pomegranate
- Apple
- Blackberry
- Grapefruit
I have already tried Izze Peach. It's A-mazing! Totally delish. I recommend you run out to Whole Foods and buy this product: Right.Now. Don't delay. Why are you still reading this - go buy it!

More goals checked off...more brain cells dead
I am losing my mind.
For the life of me I cannot remember what my username and password combination is for my Day Zero account. And conveniently, when I ask them to send me an email with a new password - nothing happens. So here I am, with goals checked off and no way to check them off.
Lots has been happening with Day Zero and that makes me a happy person. I have officially checked off goal number 53 - no cabs for 30 days! It was a great adventure for me and I'm very proud of myself for completing this task.
I also am able to check off number 77 - visit Bryan and Rachael in Dallas. We had a great time seeing our friends in their new city. Adventures consisted of touring the new Cowboy Stadium and a night out on the town in Dallas. We also got to see their darling baby girl who is absolutely precious. Going to Texas has also helped me in my quest to kiss J in every state in the US: thus far we have Illinois, Indiana and Texas crossed off the list.
Goal number 96 (try 10 new recipes) is also well under way. I have baked a chocolate lava cake and made red velvet cupcakes with homemade buttercream frosting. I also made a seven layer dip for my Mma's birthday which was quite delicious and fairly easy. I think it will become a staple appetizer in the Zimmer household.
I have some plans in the works that will help cross off a few additional items on my list - but J can't know about them and he is a reader of mine, so I can't discuss in too much detail. Once they happen you can expect a full recap.
Check out my full list (that isn't updated) here.
